About
DBD Randomizer
Faceplant Studios is mostly one developer (Alphaproject) with help from a friend. We build tools that are fair, honest and user-first - no ulterior motives, no selling your data. And yes, occasionally a bit over-engineered. On purpose. Mostly.
What we make
Besides this site, here's what Alphaproject and Faceplant Studios are working on:
A lightweight, self-hosted web interface for controlling VLC Media Player remotely.
Floating UI elements for the browser - dropdowns, popovers, tooltips, context menus, modals and more. No dependencies.

About the Randomizer
The Randomizer builds a loadout for you - killer or survivor, perks, items, add-ons, offerings, even challenges. Hit the button and play what you get. Great for a change of pace, a self-imposed challenge, or those nights where you stare at the loadout screen and pick nothing for ten minutes.
It exists because "just pick something" is harder than it sounds when you own everything - and because a randomizer that quietly logs and sells what you play isn't one we wanted to use ourselves, so we built one that doesn't.
It's also a playground: a place to build over-engineered systems on purpose, break them, then fix them properly. That practice feeds straight back into the site and other projects.
Under the hood it's a Laravel backend and a vanilla JS frontend, with a splattering of Python and bash holding bits together.
"We fall, we learn, we keep building."
